Financial Accountant

Job Description

 

To support the Finance Director with day to day tasks to include forecasting, reconciliations of VAT returns assisting the Business Development team with all costings, month end procedures and producing monthly reports on Sage Line 50

 

Personal Qualities

 

The candidate will have excellent knowledge of book keeping and have an accountancy background. Ideally the candidate will be CIMA or ACCA qualified although candidates may be qualified through experience. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English. IT literacy and knowledge of Sage is essential. The candidate will show the initiative to work well as a team member and on an individual level.

 

It is envisaged that the candidate will be ultimately responsible for the day to day running of the department in the absence of the Finance Director, therefore proven experience of performance management would be an advantage.

 

Responsibilities will include:


To effectively perform all duties relating to management and Financial accountancy in a timely manner

To manage and guide all members of the Finance department to ensure that targets and deadlines are met
 To adhere to company ethics ensuring the good name of the company at all times
To ensure that all departments within the business are effectively communicated with regards to deadlines and timelines

 

Key tasks:


Forecasting and Preparation of Departmental Budgets
Reconciliation of VAT returns
Completing month end procedures- Management Accounts and Year End Accounts.
 Producing of monthly reports
To assist the Business Development Department in Costings for contracts
Ensure your line manager is made aware of developments, problems and other issues affecting the performance of the department
To be available for re-deployment to other duties compatible with your status within the company

Business Development Mangers & Senior Business Developement Managers

Octavian Group has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join an expanding sales team. You will be responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities within our portfolio of clients and through lead generation. 

 

Responsibilities will include:


Building and developing customer relationships within the existing client base in order to indentify new sales opportunities.
Win new business through lead generation to expand Octavian’s client base.
 Effectively promote and sell all services to ensure revenue and gross margin targets are achieved.
Lead the bid process for all aspects of new business opportunities identified.
Building and developing a strong working relationship within the Sales team.

 

Candidates must have:


Experience of working within the security industry ensuring a through understanding if the client base.
Ability to negotiate and influence at a senior management level.
High level communication and interpersonal skills.
 Experience of developing new business in complex service environment with a sophisticated client base.
A proven track record developing new business and growing existing.
Experience of preparation of tender documentation.
High level presentation skills.
Enthusiasm and drive.

Administrator

 

Salary: £ Negotiable.
Hours: Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.00
Duration: Permanent

Location: Gloucester, GL1

Reporting to: Site Manager

 

Job purpose: To provide administrative support to the client and associated contractors to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the site.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Issuing contractor ID badges.
Carrying out site inductions for new starters and contractors.
Dealing with day to day administration tasks.
Answering the telephone and providing information and assistance in response to general enquires.

 

Requirements:

 

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work well with different personalities.
Team player, but also able to work under own initiative and unsupervised.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively.
Basic computer literacy.

Internships

 

We have a very dynamic and popular short term internship programme at Octavian.  Interns assist the Sales, Marketing or Finance departments on an ad-hoc basis for up to a maximum period of six weeks. Whilst we do not provide travel or lodging expenses, we offer a small payment of £100 a week.  We are keen to hear from enthusiastic, motivated individuals who would like work experience in any of our busy departments.
