Octavian Shows Its Chivalrous Side For Charity

Posted on: 22 Jun 2010

Security company Octavian Security has announced that it's seeking to build closer CSR partnerships with new and existing clients in support of its chosen charity the Global Girls' Fund, the charitable arm of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Patron of the Global Girls Fund presenting Kavita Oberoi, Global Girls Fund Chair with the ‘Princess Benedikte Award' on Saturday, on 15 May 2010, Bath, England.

Where there is natural synergy with clients and the charity, Octavian is looking to build in a charitable giving section to each contract, so that the Global Girls' Fund or even the preferred charity of the client benefit from the working relationship via ongoing donations.

The company selected the Global Girl's Fund as its main charity for 2010/2011 following the recent appointment of its co-owner and director Kavita Oberoi as Chair of the Global Girls' Fund board.

"We work with a lot of philanthropic large organisations and believe that it's crucial for companies like our own to do the same," explains Kavita.

"We think that more businesses should choose a young peoples' charity to adopt as businesses have such fantastic skill sets to pass down as mentors, as well as the fund raising power they yield. Those that do will be surprised at just how rewarding it can be - helping through money and time to develop the next generation of entrepreneurs, managers, carers and leaders."

Octavian Security has always been an advocate of giving back to society. It was a pioneer in enabling ex-Gurkha Rifle servicemen to find work in the UK, has donated its security services for free to various Nottinghamshire community schemes and has given thousands of pounds to East Midlands charities over the years. Additionally, Octavian's owner and founder Sukhi Ghuman has dedicated considerable time and effort into mentoring graduates and school leavers and contributes frequently to his personal chosen charity The Smile Train.

Sukhi, who is now based on overseas projects, will be seeking to roll this principle out to overseas ventures.
