Octavian Security, the international firm dedicated to protecting people and organizations, today announced the opening of its U.S. Headquarters in Berwyn, PA, and named as its president Gregg Strangways, former Division Manager for MTI Global.
Octavian also established regional offices in Tulsa, OK and Richmond, VA.
In making the announcement, Sukhi Ghuman, founder and CEO of the Octavian Group, said "we are bringing to America the heightened standards and advanced training that has helped us become one of the fastest growing companies in security-conscious Britain.
"Gregg will be adapting our expertise in the areas of manned guarding, event security and risk management to the American marketplace," he added.
"His focus will be the security needs of ports and the firms serving them, utilities, government entities, and the construction industry, as well as small to mid-sized firms that are underserved by existing companies."
Octavian chose to locate the company's headquarters in Greater Philadelphia because of the region's strategic location and the efforts by Select Greater Philadelphia to quickly and effectively connect Octavian with businesses and security personnel. Strangways is already working to staff the headquarters and to employ strategies that have helped Octavian become one of England's fastest growing companies.
Before his role with the Canadian aerospace company, MTI Global, Strangways held management positions with Tyco Electronics, Reynolds Metals and Owens Corning.
"I've seen the growing need to integrate security into the fabric of our nation's businesses especially in the aftermath of 9-11," said Strangways.
"We not only need well-trained personnel, we need security teams that understand the nature of the threats to the organizations they are guarding, as well as how to integrate their services with those of local, state and federal law enforcement.
"Octavian's expertise in these areas will allow us to offer a caliber of personnel and level of service that exceed that offered by many of our competitors," he added."
Strangways, a graduate of the engineering school at Virginia Tech, earned his MBA from University of Richmond. He will maintain offices in the Philadelphia suburb of Berwyn as well as in Richmond, VA.
Cal Stafford has been named Senior Business Manager and will work out of the Tulsa, office. He is a former Marine, who has served with federal, state and tribal governments in administrative and law enforcement positions. He has worked with the Petroleum Security Council and trained personnel for oilfield theft. Stafford was manager for Gulfco Industries western division and team coordinator for Nestle USA.
