Business Development Assistant

 

Octavian specialises in the provision of a comprehensive range of security services to a wide variety of blue chip and public sector organisations both in the UK and Internationally. We are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Assistant. This role will involve working closely with both the Group CEO and COO, and reports to the Group CEO.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

 

Prospect continuously for new clients through a variety of techniques, including telephone solicitation and cold calling.

 

To work with all team members to ensure that the department focus on sales effort, developed and graded leads, and in developing campaigns to maximize this is adhered to.

 

To work in association with the other members of the Business Development team to maintain the database of prospective contacts and ensure that it is contacted and updated regularly.

 

To analyse UK and International market opportunities, prospective companies and associated buyers.

 

To collate data for all Octavian international operational matters and report this directly to the CEO.

 

To maintain liaison with all Octavian international staff and feedback all matters directly to the CEO.

 

To assist in all business development matters relating to Octavian international operations, taking direction from CEO and COO. 

 

 

Skills and experience:

 

Sound educational background, preferably to degree standard

 

Fluency in a foreign language, ideally Spanish is desirable.

 

Proven Business Development experience.

 

Commercial acumen.

Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.

 

Team builder, capable of motivating and inspiring others.

 

Willing to travel within the UK and internationally, if required.

 

Skill in persuasive oral and written communications, including effective executive level presentation skills.

 

Demonstrated energy, drive, determination and persistence, even when confronted with rejection.

 

Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and prospects.

 

Ability to analyse sales data and development recommendations and solutions.

 

Excellent planning, organization and time management skills.

 

Courteous phone manner.

 

Strong customer service and results orientation.
